What The Hail!?!?

It just started hailing at our house. I am ready for it to be sunny and warm now! If this hail knocks the cute little flower buds off of my tiny new apple tree, I am going to be mad!!!

Top Ten Tuesday - Hometown Edition

Things I loved about my home town *(and surrounding area)!

10) That we were able to walk everywhere! We were allowed to walk to the park, to walk to school, to walk to the store and the pool. Hillsboro was safe back then (or we thought it was) and felt like a small town.

9) Hanks: it was a big deal to my when I was younger to get the ok to walk to Hanks and buy candy. I don't know if 7-11 was there yet or not. I don't remember it from those memories.

8) Hare Field: Good memories all around. From when I was little and would beg to go and play in the sand (the sand for the triple jump mind you), run around wild on the bleachers or around the track.

7) Drive In: Not exactly Hillsboro, but close. My friends and I would go to the drive in when I was a little older. So fun!

6) Cousins: I loved when the Clovers moved into town. I had a built in best friend. I could walk and meet Jeannie half way or we would go to her house or mine. We pretty much just did whatever came to mind that moment. *(Burgerville french fries baby!)

5) Swimming pool: Swimming lessons were my favorite thing every summer. How great was it to have a local swimming pool?

4) Hagg Lake: Dirty and yucky and now that I am an adult I don't think I would put my feet in that lake let alone go swimming, but we loved it there.

3) Foot ball games! We were right next door to the field (as said above), but these are different memories. It was so great to decide last minute to go or not. And we could hear it all from our back step if we wanted.

2) Dads garden: How cool was that? Still. It was so nice to just walk down and pick a cucumber if you wanted on. Or fruit too. This all ties into #1.

1) Our back yard. We had the best back yard in all of Hillsboro (I thought). We didn't have to go anywhere. We had everything we needed right there in our back yard.

And everyone goes out. Welcome to Oregon. We had a fun 1/2 day at the zoo with the Bergs. I love when spring really starts.

Top Ten Tuesday - Baby Names Edition

Top Ten Baby Names:


10)No name here...just a story. When I told Grandma McCumber (Hilda) what we named the baby she was horrified. What? They will totally pick on her! They are all going to call her Ashtray. Thus the nick name was born. Poor Ash Ash. :) I love the name and love Grandma, so it didn't bug me at all. It will be a funny story for sure!

9)Avery! LOVE Avery. Fought for Avery, but Amy got preggers before me...so she was able to use it first. And now I am happy. Ashlynn and Avery both look the names they ended up with for sure.

8)Ryan Nicole. Not really one I loved. I loved it for Josh, since it was the name he wanted to name his baby girl ever since High School, but I just coudln't do it. So I was the bad one here.

7)Not one I ever liked, but Becky REALLY wants me to name my next little girl Katherine Dorthy Komp, so we can call her Kat Dot Komp. Duh! :)

6)Emerson. My way of getting on the Em band wagon, but was SO SHOT DOWN. :)

5)Lauren. I wanted Lauren all my life. Josh loves the name too, but I had a BRAT BRAT BRAT in my class when I worked at one day care and she ruined it for me.

4)Cassidy. Always wanted it. But Cassidy Komp just doesn't sound so good.

3)Cody. If I had of married the boy before Josh, I would have had 2 kids. Cassidy and Cody Williams. Again...with Komp...doesn't sound too hot. I will give up the names for the good hubby for sure!!!

2)Hadly. Heard it on the movie "the upside of anger". LOVE IT!!! No one else loves it though.

1)Addison. Ashlynn was almost Addison, but the hubby wasn't sold on it. Thank goodness we found a name we both love.

Here We Go Again....

I will be off line for a little while. :( Ashlynn is sick again. Started getting sick @ 11:30 PM Friday night and hasn't stopped. So I am dealing with a little one that can't keep anything down and doesn't want to be put down. That makes it a little hard to type. As I know most of you know. :)

Thankfully Josh was home from turkey hunting Saturday to watch her while I went to the beach with the "Briggs" family to take their family pictures. I am excited about the shoot. I will be putting those on jenniferlynnphototgraphy.blogspot.com today!

I am also taking some photoshop elements classes, so I have been sucked into that. Between that, taking pictures and the sick baby...I will be on the low for a little while. Hope to blog soon.

Top Ten Tuesday - Things I LOVE

10) My Bed - yes...odd, but I truly love falling into bed at night. Aaaggghhh.

9) Changing this one...I originally said my cats and I do love them, but I have to say Hawaii! OH Hawaii. How I love you. How I would move my little family to Maui in two seconds if I knew I could afford it. May is right around the corner and we will be together again.

8) Planting things. Not yard work really, but plants. I love buying them and putting them in the ground. :) Looking at other peoples beautiful yards makes me just want to buy more!

7) Ice cream. It is my down fall. I think I bought a dip cone every other day after Ashlynn was born. My excuse was I needed the calcium. 6) My bath tub. I don't take a lot of baths, but when I do...I wonder why I waited so long again!!!!

5) Massages! Need I say more?!?! If you haven't had one...do it!

4) Pedicures!! I love to get together with my sisters or my girlfriends and get a pedicure. I love cute toes!!!

3) Animals. Really all kinds. Soft heart when it comes to them. I would adopt them all. I can't watch Animal Police on Animal Planet. *(Not a word about unicorns!)

2) Photography. So into it. Always have been, but lately I can't get enough. I pack my camera around wherever I go. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE the latest and greatest camera.

1) Diet Pepsi. So addicted. So in love.

Weekend Trip To Boise

We headed to Boise this weekend for a memorial for Josh's Grandpa. Whew...what a drive. 8 hrs on the road. Only stopping for a quick bite and to fill up the tank. Thank goodness Mary and Gary offered to take Ashlynn on the plane with them. That could have really been a LONG trip with little Ash in the car. She played and talked the whole flight to Boise and slept the whole way home. Nice.

The memorial was nice. Uncle Stan told some great stories and we were able to see a lot of old pictures. Even one I hope to post later (when I get a copy) of Grandpa when he was a little little guy. Maybe a year old. I see a LOT of Ashlynn in that picture.

Sad we missed the great weather here at home, but glad we were able to see family and have a wonderful memorial for Grandpa Dick.
